We're Dropping the AI. And That's a Good Thing.

About a year ago, I made a positioning mistake.

Not a technology mistake. Not a strategic mistake in how we were building our business. But a mistake in how we chose to tell the world who we are.

I remember hearing another CEO share an analogy that stuck with me:

It's better to be an average surfer riding a massive wave than the best surfer in the world sitting in flat water.

I loved that.

And at the time, there was no bigger wave than artificial intelligence.

So we decided to ride it.

We changed our positioning from PeopleLinx to PeopleLinx AI, leaning into what we believed would be one of the most transformative technologies our industry had ever experienced.

And to be clear, we weren't wrong about AI.

We were wrong about making AI the headline of our story.

AI Has Been an Incredible Gift to Our Business

Over the past year, we've embraced AI in ways that have fundamentally improved how we operate, how we build solutions, and how we deliver value to our clients.

And we're just getting started.

AI has helped us become a smarter, faster, more capable organization. It's allowed a relatively small team to accomplish things that previously would have required significantly more people, time, and resources.

A few examples:

Better sales pipeline visibility and reporting. We've improved how we organize, analyze, and surface sales activity and prospect engagement data. Our team and our clients can better understand what's happening across their outreach programs, where opportunities are developing, and where attention is needed.

Smarter prospect research and data enrichment. AI has helped us improve how we identify, research, qualify, and enrich prospect information. That means more relevant targeting, better context, and more informed conversations.

More efficient go-to-market planning. From researching industries and identifying ideal customer profiles to exploring new markets and developing campaign strategies, AI has dramatically accelerated work that once took days.

Stronger messaging and content development. AI has become an invaluable brainstorming and research partner. It helps us explore ideas, understand audiences, develop messaging angles, and refine our approach before a campaign ever launches.

More effective internal operations. Across workflows, quality assurance, reporting, and everyday execution, AI has helped us reduce repetitive work and give our people more time to focus on the activities that actually move the needle.

And perhaps most importantly, AI has helped us improve the quality of the work we deliver to our clients.

That's the real opportunity.

Not simply doing more.

Doing better.

But Somewhere Along the Way, Our Industry Started Confusing Scale With Success

Here's where things got interesting.

As AI became the hottest topic in technology, an entire ecosystem of AI-powered sales and marketing tools exploded.

Suddenly, everyone was promising more outreach, more automation, more messages, more leads, and more meetings.

Send 10,000 emails instead of 1,000.

Generate hundreds of personalized messages in seconds.

Automate entire conversations.

Replace human judgment with algorithms.

And while some of these capabilities are genuinely impressive, I think a lot of the industry has lost sight of something fundamental.

Just because AI makes it possible to reach more people doesn't mean we should.

We've entered an era where AI-generated content, automated prospecting, and mass outreach can create an extraordinary amount of noise.

Inbox after inbox filled with messages that pretend to be personal but clearly aren't.

Automated follow-ups that sound human but have no real understanding of the recipient.

Endless AI-generated content that adds volume without adding value.

AI slop.

And frankly, that's not what we want PeopleLinx to be associated with.

We've Always Believed in a Different Approach

At PeopleLinx, our philosophy has always been pretty simple.

The right message. To the right person. At the right time.

Not the most messages.

Not the biggest database.

Not the highest volume of automated activity.

We believe in thoughtful, highly targeted, authentic sales outreach.

We believe in understanding a prospect's business before reaching out.

We believe in building campaigns around real opportunities, not just filling inboxes.

And we believe that quality assurance, human judgment, and genuine engagement are essential to successful sales development.

That's how we've always operated.

Our programs are intentionally targeted and focused. We combine technology, research, thoughtful messaging, and human oversight to create meaningful business conversations.

And now, with AI, we can do all of that even better.

We can research more intelligently. Personalize more thoughtfully. Identify opportunities more accurately. Monitor campaigns more effectively. And give our team better information to make better decisions.

AI should make authentic outreach more effective, not make inauthentic outreach easier.

That's the distinction that matters to us.

The Technology Isn't Our Identity. The Results Are.

Looking back, I think the biggest lesson from our decision to add AI to our name is that we confused an incredibly powerful enabling technology with our actual value proposition.

Our clients don't hire PeopleLinx because they want AI.

They hire us because they want to connect with the right prospects, create meaningful sales opportunities, build pipeline, and grow their businesses.

They want expertise.

They want execution.

They want visibility and accountability.

And they want a partner who understands that their brand and reputation are on the line every time someone reaches out on their behalf.

AI helps us deliver all of those things.

But AI isn't the reason we exist.

People are. Connections are. Relationships are. Results are.

It's right there in our name.

PeopleLinx.

So Today, We're Dropping the AI.

Effective today, we're returning to our original branding and positioning.

PeopleLinx. Not PeopleLinx AI.

We're removing AI from our logo, our name, and the way we position our company.

But make no mistake: we're not moving away from artificial intelligence.

Quite the opposite.

And nothing about how we deliver for our clients is changing. We're still going to do revenue orchestration the same way we always have. Thoughtful. Targeted. Accountable. It will continue to be authentic, genuine revenue orchestration, powered by AI, but not led by it. We're a revenue orchestration company that uses AI exceptionally well, not an AI-forward branding company.

We're going to continue investing in AI, integrating it into our solutions, improving our workflows, and exploring every opportunity it gives us to deliver better outcomes for our clients.

We'll continue building smarter systems, enhancing our research capabilities, improving pipeline intelligence, and finding ways to make our team more productive and effective.

We just don't believe AI needs to be the first thing you hear about us.

Because the most important thing about PeopleLinx isn't the technology we use.

It's how we use it, and what we accomplish for the businesses that trust us.

Maybe the Best Surfers Know Which Waves to Ride

I still love that surfing analogy.

And I still believe AI is one of the biggest waves we'll see in our lifetimes.

But I've learned something over the past year.

Riding a big wave doesn't mean you need to put the wave's name on your surfboard.

You still need to know where you're going.

You still need to know what makes you different.

And you still need to stay true to what got you in the water in the first place.

For us, that's authentic, thoughtful, highly targeted sales outreach, powered by great people and increasingly sophisticated technology.

It always has been.

And it always will be.

We're dropping the AI from our name. Not from our innovation.

And I couldn't be more excited about where we're headed.
