“Working at PeopleLinx was awesome! Everyone is fun to work with and made sure I had the best experience possible.”

-Trina Kadakia, winner of the 2011 “Intern of the Year” award at PeopleLinx.

“I gained exposure to a new way of doing business, was given challenging responsibilities, and attained priceless skills that I still implement in my role today.”

-Pari Patel, winner of the 2010 “Intern of the Year” award at PeopleLinx.

PeopleLinx is excited to begin its search for the 2012 PeopleLinx “Intern of the Year”. Those who wish to be considered should apply to the best internship program in the Philadelphia area. Only the hungry and foolish should apply.

Generic Blurb About Us:

Founded in 2009 by former and early LinkedIn executives, we are a pioneer and recognized leader in social media information services for businesses. We have extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of social media tools for B2B applications. With this background we have developed a suite of solutions that allow our clients to successfully navigate and maximize their usage of social media.  Our current client base includes Fortune 500 companies and other leading institutions. Based in Center City Philadelphia, we also maintain a service and support office in Omaha, NE.

More Sales Pitch:

Our annual internship program offers an incredible opportunity to students working towards a bachelor’s degree. Our interns will be exposed to every aspect of our growing business and will learn from recognized leaders in social media and social business. These positions offer a wonderful opportunity to grow your portfolio, expand your network, and learn important business lessons in an exciting environment.

The Short Version:

We move at a daily pace of a million miles an hour. Your head is going to spin. It’s going to feel like you bungee jumped off the Victoria Falls Bridge. Well, maybe not that, but it’s definitely exhilarating! In a few months, you will have learned more and been exposed to more real life business decisions, goals, projects, than any of your friends will at their internships or summer camp jobs. (We would guarantee this but our lawyers thought better to leave out a true guarantee)

The Goods (a.k.a What You Really Care About):

Marketing Design Intern / “Creative Genius”

PeopleLinx is seeking a talented design intern with an interest in internet products and online marketing.

This intern will work with our marketing team to advance the PeopleLinx brand through new designs and marketing strategies. Other area of assistance would include sales proposals and presentations. Occasional blog post writing and email marketing responsibilities as well.

Blah blah blah….right?

We need someone who can show up on day one and think of designs for proposals, marketing materials, logos, etc.

Would you ever ask questions like, “What would General Patton’s Klout score be?” and then proceed to put a Klout score of zero next to his likeness from the 1940s? Great! Apply now. We love this stuff and need more of it.

Generalist / Project Management “Enforcer”

We’re looking for someone who can help behind the scenes and be involved with client facing work. The intern can expect to conduct primary research and develop methodologies & problem solving approaches.

This intern would work throughout the organization, depending on the project, and will need to wear many hats. Efficiency and adaptability are keys for this position. Organizational skills are also critical.

The “Enforcer” will assist with client facing deliveries, support, and project management. As our company continues to grow in 2012, this will be a very critical position that will expose an intern to critical business functions and will require a corresponding ambitious and driven intern.

Lastly, as you may have guesses, this position will require making sure things get done. And not only that they get done, but that they are done ahead of schedule and better than expected. You will need to “Bring It” every minute of every hour of every day.

Engineer / “Development Aficionado”

Working alongside our Technology team, this developer will be given hands on experience with projects that really mean something.

“Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life? Or do you want to come with me and change the world?”

Ok so you’re probably not selling sugared water, but as Steve Jobs said, wouldn’t you rather change the world than do whatever you do every summer?

We’re developing new technologies, new solutions, new products every day at PeopleLinx and our “Development Aficionado” would deliver real results to this work and be able to see how they helped change the world from one focused on social media to one focused on social business.

Ideal Candidates

It is an understatement to say the ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced work environment and has a high aptitude to handle change and diverse work.

Candidates are expected to have the appropriate “foundational” skills for the positions they apply – i.e. strong writing, presentation and communication skills as well as any technical skills required by the position.

Strong understanding of necessary tools required for their role – i.e. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator and other editing software.

Compensation

Unpaid; college credit. Interns that exceed expectations will be considered for a contractor relationship with PeopleLinx following their internship, based on availability and company needs. Previous interns have continued to work as contractors after their summer internships. To see more of where previous PeopleLinx interns are today, click here.

Reimbursement

PeopleLinx will reimburse all necessary travel, equipment, and other reasonable expenses related to the internship.

Travel / Relocation

The ideal candidate is local or within reasonable travel distance to the office. Remote candidates may apply and are encouraged to include their travel preferences and abilities for the summer.
