Welcome Bill Conn! The PeopleLinx Team Continues to Grow

You may already have seen a few posts by Bill Conn over the last week, and today we get to know him better in his official welcome blog post. Bill is our new Director of Content Marketing and will be working closely with his colleagues at PeopleLinx to develop and foster thought leadership pieces on social business and related topics. He joins us from the Advertising Specialty Institute, where he managed the workflow for a high-volume marketing team as well as the social media program for ASI’s conference division. His deep experience in social media and content creation will be a valuable asset to the team and PeopleLinx’s client base.

I sat down with Bill this week to get his thoughts on joining the team.

Q&A with Bill Conn

Why did you join the PeopleLinx team?

I worked with George Krautzel of MissionOG when he was president and co-founder of Toolbox.com. He has been working closely with PeopleLinx over the last 18 months and recommended them as one of the hottest companies he has seen recently. His pitch to me was along the lines of “you have to meet Nathan, Patrick, and the team…you’ll be instantly hooked.” And, he was right! As soon as I walked into the office to meet PeopleLinx, it was like being hit with by a bolt of lightning – the creativity was palpable, ideas were bouncing back and forth, and the team worked together like a well-oiled machine. I knew I needed to be part of it.

networking, but have struggled to make a business case for it because it has been difficult to nearly impossible to measure and quantify the return on investment. Social business is important because, in part, it brings together the people, the processes, and the technology to help companies and employees leverage social networks like LinkedIn to reach their goals. We now have solutions like PeopleLinx that turn the promise of social networking for business a reality.

What do you hope to accomplish at PeopleLinx?

I work with a lot of very smart people who have the potential to change the way we all do business. I will tap into their collective knowledge to get their message out about social business. When anyone in any industry hears “social business,” I want the next thought that crosses their mind to be “PeopleLinx” and the name of a person on my team who can provide them with the specific expertise they’re looking for.

When you’re not at work, what do you do for fun?

I’m a runner and you can find me toeing the line in a lot of local Philadelphia races or somewhere in the middle of the pack after the gun fires. It helps me stay in shape for keeping up with my wife and two-year-old son. I’ve also been trying my hand at cooking, with the goal of moving beyond scrambled eggs as my signature dish to something more sophisticated (like sunny-side up).
