PeopleLinx is hosting the weWorkInPhilly Hackathon – Saturday, September 14!

PeopleLinx is hosting a Hackathon and we want you to take part. Build cool stuff, meet new people, challenge yourself, and help strengthen the Philly tech community. And do it all in just a few hours!

We’ll be hacking on weWorkInPhilly, brainstorming and collaborating on new features, and modifying and using their APIs. And don’t be surprised if a few games of foos break out.

But above and beyond the work we’ll be doing on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 9 AM – 5:30 PM are all the fringe benefits and perks of meeting and working side-by-side with smart and creative people who are as passionate about tech as you are. Here’s what you can expect to do:

  • Roll up your sleeves and rub elbows with Mark Headd (CTO Philadelphia), Alex Hillman, Chris Cera, and me (Keith Fitzgerald, CTO of PeopleLinx)
  • Meet some of smartest coders, hackers, product managers, web designers, data gardeners, and test engineers you’ll find anywhere in technology.
  • Improve weWorkInPhilly, a community-edited guide to the People, Companies, Groups, Projects, Products, and Resources that make up the creative, technology, and business community in Philadelphia.
  • Get a sweet Hackathon t-shirt to show your Philly tech pride.

Saturday’s schedule:

  • 9:00 AM: Coffee and registration
  • 10:00 AM: Welcome, statement of purpose, review of existing issues
  • 10:30 AM: Brainstorming / team forming
  • 11:00 AM: Hacking
  • 4:30 PM: Demo and Discussion of work
  • 5:30 PM Beers get opened (thanks to our Happy Hour sponsor, 50onRED!)

The college or university with the biggest showing at the Hackathon gets a $250 pizza party for their computer science department, courtesy of PeopleLinx.
