PeopleLinx is Growing! Liz Coleman and James Evans Join the Team

This week, PeopleLinx welcomed two new members to our fast growing team. Liz Coleman, formerly of LinkedIn, is our new Vice President of Client Engagement and will be working closely with our customers to help them utilize the PeopleLinx solution to reach their business goals. At LinkedIn, Liz was a Relationship Manager for their Talent Solutions team where she was responsible for growing existing accounts and training enterprise professionals on how to best use the platform. Her unique and comprehensive understanding of LinkedIn will be a great asset to our team and our customers.

James Evans joins us from Capital One 360 (formerly ING Direct) as a Senior Developer, and will be focusing on developing technologies that help scale our development team as well as the platform services we offer to clients. At Capital One 360 James was a Senior Associate Java Developer delivering customer-facing code related to core products. His deep knowledge of the online banking systems as well as his leadership in the Java community are a natural fit for our enterprise client base.

Liz and James shared their thoughts with me about joining the PeopleLinx team.

Q&A with Liz Coleman and James Evans

Why did you join the PeopleLinx team?

Liz: When I first met Nathan and Patrick, it became clear that the role they needed me for at PeopleLinx was my dream job. While I didn’t think it would ever be possible to have a better gig than working at LinkedIn, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be a part of this team. in which everyone brings a unique expertise to the table and is equally passionate about the vision of the company. The bonus of working at PeopleLinx is that I can continue to share my passion for LinkedIn while also empowering our clients to understand, grow and leverage their social presence.

James: Kevin O’Nell reached out to me back in December (via LinkedIn of course). A meeting for coffee quickly turned into to a “meet the team,” and I was immediately impressed by the vigor and vision of the group. Everyone was locked-on and motivated to build this revolutionary platform that already had great traction with big, Fortune 500 clients. For me, I saw this as an opportunity to really immerse myself in the world of social APIs and take a big step forward in my career in a leadership position at a company about to explode with hockey stick growth!

Why is Social Business important?

Liz: Social Business is here to stay. It’s creating an exciting new dynamic within organizations, allowing corporations to harness and leverage their most powerful assets – their employees. In turn, employees are empowered to achieve their own goals through the social networks like LinkedIn that they’re already using on a daily basis. The ROI on both sides of that equation is undeniable, and we’ve seen real-world proof of it among our top clients.

James: Business by its nature depends on social interactions. Increasing the quantity and quality of those interactions will help increase a business’s bottom line. The technology that PeopleLinx provides has matured to the point where there is now a viable solution to help corporations realize all of the benefits that Social Business has to offer.

What do you hope to accomplish at PeopleLinx?

Liz: I will build out scalable processes on the client engagement side that helps our customers understand what Social Business can do for them, clearly define their goals, and then exceed those goals through our solution. I am looking forward to being a part of product conversations and helping to shape the future of PeopleLinx by recruiting talented new professionals to join our team.

James: So much to do, so little time! As client demand grows, I will help put in processes and protocols to meet the demand of our growing customer base. I want to improve the quality of our platform, as well as the quality of our development cycle. As the code base grows, we also need to improve automated testing. I’m also super excited at the opportunity to learn everything I can from the colleagues we have here.

When you’re not at work, what do you do for fun?

Liz: I love to ski, cook, paint, read, and hang out with friends.

James: I’m a big fan of games, movies, puzzles, and books. I also enjoy hacking against new techs in my free time, thinking for thoughts sake, and trying new things. I also really enjoy reading the news and viewing maps.
