Freesource joins forces with NYC Bar Association: LinkedIn for Lawyers

On June 17th 2011 Freesource, the global leader in B2B information services, presented “LinkedIn for Lawyers” to a sold-out crowd over 250 lawyers at the prestigious New York City Bar Association.

The two-hour, interactive session, which is part of the NYC Bar’s on-going professional development series, was led by Freesource’s CEO and Chairman Nathan Egan. Egan, who is one of three former LinkedIn executives who left LinkedIn to found the company, rarely makes public appearances so the session was a special opportunity for those who were able to attend.

Focused on empowering lawyers to harness the power of LinkedIn to help them meet their strategic business objectives, Egan began by discussing the macro-effects of social media on the business environment for lawyers. He also strongly emphasized that LinkedIn be viewed as powerful “business software” that lawyers can customize for their individual or firm-wide needs.

Before finishing the presentation, Egan fielded 45 minutes of challenging questions from the diverse crowd of lawyers which included everyone from Principals, Senior Partners and CMOs at large established firms, to individual practitioners, legal administrators, and junior associates.
