Congratulations to Prudential Retirement on their Social Media Silver Bowl Award at LIMRA!

I’ve had the pleasure to work closely with Steven Webster, Shannon Late, and the team at Prudential Retirement over the last year, and in that time I’ve come to know them as social business leaders with a truly fresh perspective. So, it was no real surprise today when they won the Best Use of LinkedIn award at the 2013 Social Media Conference for Financial Services.

This year’s conference theme is “The Year of the Customer” and focuses on harnessing the power of social tools to engage clients and improve communications, which is exactly what Steven’s team has done with LinkedIn. They worked diligently to meet regulatory guidelines while encouraging employees to embrace LinkedIn as part of their everyday work in sales and relationship management. The results have been phenomenal, their connectivity and marketability are up, and LinkedIn is now one of their proven marketing channels.

It was exciting to be front and center with the Prudential team as the awards were announced. I had a chance to get Steven’s thoughts right after the win: “The team and I are really honored by this recognition, which we have to share with Shannon Late. Without her and the compliance team we would be still figuring this out. We feel we’re doing something cutting edge to harness the power of LinkedIn for our sales and relationship managers. It’s a great honor to have someone as prestigious as LIMRA recognize us as social business innovators.”

Congratulations to Steven Webster and Prudential Retirement. We look forward to working with them on their social business initiatives, learning from their innovations, and hopefully congratulating them again this time next year.
